It felt so good to swap the chaos of the Médina with the peaceful olive tree lined property of Berber Lodge. Nestled at the base of the Atlas Mountains, just 45 minutes out of Marrakech, lies a gorgeous retreat.

What mystifies me is how the traditional Moroccan style can be so simple and understated, yet fill me with such a deep inspiration. The colors, and the soft edges and archways that lead you from one sitting area to the next all make me feel like in another life, I had been there before.

We arrived in the afternoon to lunch in the garden. I could barely stay in my seat, itching at the chance to start capturing the beauty around every corner.

I walked around with my camera glued to my hand, wanting to capture this feeling, so I could bring it with me as I continued my travels around the world.

We only spent one night in this sweet escape, but if you are planning a trip to Marrakech, I recommend experiencing the understated luxury that Berber Lodge has to offer.
