AT HOME WITH MIKI: in the kitchen
After having traveled and lived all over the world for nearly 2 years, I experienced countless combos of kitchens filled with a vast variety of utensils, plates, spices, mugs, knives (or lack of) and all sorts of appliances from brand new to seemingly ancient. Having to rely solely on what another person deemed necessary made me realize what is absolutely essential to me in the kitchen. Come take a mini tour inside of our kitchen!
Yes, the Our Place pan is really worth the hype! Not only does it come in perfectly aesthetic colors, but the function beyond surpasses any other pan I’ve used. It is impossibly easy to clean and is easy on the eyes too. I just placed an order for an entire dish + plate set, as well as their new knives! Cannot wait for them to arrive. Best believe I will be sharing those links as soon as they do!!
One of my favorite moments in our kitchen is actually this planter that I repurposed into our utensil crock! It is from the Studio McGee x Target collab, and I’m impressed with the quality considering it’s only $20! GET YOURS. I’m also a major fan of silicon utensils for cooking. Here’s the LINK for mine pictured above!
I really love supporting the few influencers I follow & Alison Wu is one of them. She has an incredible sense of style in all things food, fashion and home and her brand, Ami Ami, is pictured above. I use them as toppings for my smoothies and salads to really elevate the dish! I don’t have any discount code for those, but my honest review is that I love & would recommend them to any home cook!
On the left (above) you’ll see a very interesting piece that I upcycled from the Goodwill! It was a pretty heinous design and I used the #trashtoterracotta method by mixing baking powder with acrylic paint to give it a ceramic feel. I used it as a candle holder for a while, hence the wax dripping down, but then decided to use it for these cutie dried palms instead. If you haven’t switched from sponge to Scrub Daddy, what the heck are you waiting for?! I’m about to get really excited about convincing you to use this sponge — it is temperature controlled sponge, warm in hot water and stiff in cold. It is anti-microbial and works on literally every surface, and always returns to this bright & happy yellow! Get yours & tag me once it’s smiling in your kitchen!!
On the right is our water pitcher. If you are reading this now, then I am sure that you are well aware that everything around me must be beautiful and functional. I will not settle for an ugly water pitcher, especially considering I use it so many times a day. Stay hydrated in style!!
No kitchen post of mine would be complete without the mention of our most prized possession — the Breville Espresso Machine. This baby is definitely not compact enough to pack in our carry on bag, so we were always on the hunt for the best coffee around. As soon as we settled into one place, this was our first major purchase. We calculate how much money we were spending going out to get coffee (+ the waste of each single use cup & lid) and the Breville paid for itself in just about a month! It has been so satisfying learning how to make my own insanely delicious lattes at home, exactly how I like them, at my convenience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
We continue our aesthetic journey into the drawers. My particular knife set above is not currently available, but it does come in pink & in green as well as assorted colors!! (I wouldn’t link if they weren’t so cute. dang, now I need the colorful set for summer!!)
I have to say that these utensils make me feel fancy AF. I was worried about the quality, but I can fully vouch for them. They have a very nice weight to them, and don’t tarnish in the dishwasher. Plus they also come in matte black!
How cute are our plates?! They actually come with 4 bowls and 4 mugs (that are big enough to be bowls too!) but our pup knocked one over and it was a devastating day in the Miki Kitchen. I couldn’t find this set in pink, but I did find it in a gorgeous Mineral Blue. HERE is another pink dish set — so cute!
I love finding unique items and using them in unexpected ways, like this little tripod planter that holds our garlic! I bought this one second hand, but HERE is a similar version! Also pictured are probiotics from InBloom. I love their brand because they are plastic free! The jars are ceramic and the powder blends come with the most precious spoon. Any other spoon lovers out there?!
My kitchen tour would not be complete without Magic Spoon!! use my code MIKIASH to save $$$! They are adding new flavors all the time that instantly transport you to childhood memories without the sugar or carbs. It’s a no-brainer!!

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a huge fan of re-purposing! I’m obsessed with all PaddyWax candles (I usually buy mine at our local Whole Foods) and have turned finished candles into mugs, q-tip holders, planters, and now glassware!! These bubble glasses are from their Realm Collection. Click HERE for pink, and HERE for yellow! You get to enjoy an entire candle, and then have so much fun using the container for a new purpose!
Thank you for taking your time to hang out at home with me! I love being able to bring you into my home and share everything I have curated with you. If you purchase any of my recommendations, tag me so I can see!
